Review – The Poolside Brunch Club at Address Sky View Offers the Most Picturesque Weekend Party in Dubai

We all have those friends back home who think that life in Dubai involves nothing but lazing by the pool, and basking in the shadow of the Burj Khalifa.

Well, the Poolside Brunch Club at Address Sky View hotel does nothing to dispel this stereotype.

Set against breath-taking views of the Burj, and surrounded by the amazing architecture of Downtown, there are few more glamorous places to spend a Saturday.

Including pool access, sharing-style hot and cold starters, bento-box mains, a platter of spectacular desserts and of course, free-flowing beverages that you’re welcome to enjoy from the cool waters of the pool, it’s the weekend winddown that dreams are made of.

It takes us a good half an hour to stop photographing the spectacular scenes that surrounded the idyllic lagoon from every angle. With a live DJ setting the mood, it’s just the right level of lively and upbeat.

We share the poolside with guests from the hotel, and this also gives it an immensely family-friendly vibe that is nicely relaxed and laid back.

As we debate where to position ourselves around the buzzing pool, the venue manager tells us that the cabana beds retain the sun late into the afternoon. His advice is absolutely spot on and, while it means we are facing away from the Burj rather than towards it, we love being able to lap up the sun until almost 5pm.

In fact, the service is excellent from start to finish. The drinks arrive promptly, and we never feel hurried to finish our courses.

It’s a good job too, as the starting spread of appetisers is so extensive it could easily be a delicious brunch in itself. Spanning everyone’s favourite nibbles, we particularly adore the melt-in-the-mouth beef short rib bao buns, mammoth prawn tempura, pretty maki rolls and tangy Korean fried chicken.

Adding a sophisticated twist, there’s also a hearty cold seafood platter, Thai beef salad, fresh oysters, Mexican nachos and much more.

The high-quality nature of every dish continues with the casual main courses. The grilled corn is fabulously juicy, while the classic American sliders are demolished in seconds. Also spanning chicken quesadillas, chipotle prawns and various chicken skewers, it’s a fantastic menu that effortlessly fuses comfort foods with Instagram-able delicacies.

The dessert platter is far more impressive than we anticipated. While some pool brunches view the sweet course as something of an afterthought, here we are presented with six absolutely gorgeous cakes and tarts.

Spanning homemade Magnum-style ice creams, an incredible frozen pistachio macaron, fresh raspberry tart, rich and decadent chocolate fondant and much more, it’s the most magnificent sweet conclusion imaginable.

Providing a stress-free and crowd-free way of admiring the world’s tallest building, the Poolside Brunch Club at Address Sky View is the perfect place to take visitors from overseas.
