IWC Schaffhausen has added a new blue dial to its Ingenieur Automatic 40 collection, further modernising the iconic design first introduced by Gérald Genta in the 1970s. This latest model blends bold aesthetics with modern craftsmanship, offering enhanced comfort, superior finishing, and cutting-edge movement technology.
The New Blue Dial Model
The Ingenieur Automatic 40 (Ref. IW328907) comes in stainless steel with a 40mm case, integrated H-link bracelet, and butterfly clasp. The ergonomic design ensures a comfortable fit, even for slimmer wrists. The signature bezel is secured with five polygonal screws, while a combination of polished and satin finishes gives the watch a refined look.
The standout feature is the new blue dial, with a distinctive “grid” pattern stamped into a soft iron base and coated with PVD for a deep, vibrant finish. Rhodium-plated baton hands and metal markers filled with Super-LumiNova® ensure legibility in all conditions.
Powered by the IWC 32111 Calibre
Inside, the Ingenieur Automatic 40 is powered by the IWC-manufactured 32111 calibre, an automatic movement with a 120-hour power reserve. A soft-iron inner case shields the movement from magnetic fields, maintaining precise timekeeping.
A Modern Classic
With the addition of the blue dial, the Ingenieur Automatic 40 continues to blend Gérald Genta’s bold design with IWC’s technical expertise. The result is a stylish, versatile timepiece that’s as functional as it is striking—perfect for collectors and those looking for a reliable, everyday luxury watch.
