You enter the venue by descending stairs lined with red lights, giving the allure of a secret location – only the best among us know about. As you step through the doors, you’re immediately drawn into a world where entertainment, sports, and culinary delights merge seamlessly. The contemporary decor and cutting-edge AV systems create an inviting ambiance, enhanced by the buzz of excitement from multiple large screens showcasing many sporting events. The selling point of the location – an electric shisha on every table, adding an extra element of indulgence, offering a unique twist on a traditional pastime. The cosy chairs allow for relaxing dining while opting to sit at the long trestle table allows for more formal seating, or the bar area with chairs is also a great option for post work drinks. The addition of a unique podcasting area adds a charming touch, providing a cozy space for creative pursuits. As night falls, the velvet doors at the rear of the restaurant open and you’re encouraged to enter the exclusive club space. With a live DJ and free flowing drinks, this venue promises an unforgettable nightlife experience.
The Food Highlights
Players House elevates the dining experience with a menu that delights the senses. From the first bite to the last, each dish is a testament to culinary excellence, crafted with care and using the finest ingredients. We were seated on the plump cushions and the waitress talked us through the menu, nudging us to the try the famous ‘mac and cheese’ and ‘apple crumble’. We’re glad we opted for the recommendations provided to us because they were truly exceptional.
The Players House mac and cheese was the most indulgent dish to every grace my plate, creamy and flavourful and reminiscent of home-cooked comfort but elevated to almost luxurious heights. Another standout dish was the burrata salad was a refreshing delight, bursting with freshness and flavour. As a rule, I always have to order steak because I find that true culinary skill lies in how a steak is prepared. Let’s just say my medium rare steak was perfect, not even requiring a knife at times – the soft and tender nature of the meat melted in my mouth.
And let’s not forget the apple crumble, a dessert that transcends the ordinary, with its heavenly combination of sweet apples and chunky crisp crumble topping. The chef clearly excels at flavour combinations and is passionate about creating food that encourages you to keep coming back.
