Huda Beauty would like you to try the “Spit Technique”

Leave it to Huda Beauty to give us this week’s most memorable beauty conversation. The brand has upgraded its Lip Contour Stain, tweaking both the formula and applicator while Huda Kattan’s aptly named “Spit Technique” makes its rounds on social media.
The stain now has a new fill designed for a more comfortable, non-drying finish, as well as an overfilled applicator that glides more smoothly across the lips. There’s also no longer any need to store it upside down. Three new shades join the line-up: Rosy Mauve, Mocha and Berry Brown, with Rosy Mauve currently Huda’s personal favourite.
Now, about that technique. Huda applies the stain more heavily around the lip line and outer corners, then uses a cotton bud with a tiny amount of saliva to blend the pigment towards the centre. The result is a diffused, feathered ombré lip with greater dimension. The name may raise an eyebrow but the effect explains why people are trying it.
d’Alba lands on noon

If d’Alba has been occupying an increasingly large portion of your beauty algorithm, shopping the Korean skincare brand in the UAE has just become simpler. d’Alba has officially arrived on noon, which is now the brand’s official e-commerce partner in the UAE.
The brand combines Korean skincare technology with white truffle from Alba in Piedmont, Italy, an antioxidant-rich ingredient that sits at the centre of its formulations.

Santa Maria Novella revisits a fragrance from 1743

Few beauty products come with almost three centuries of history behind them. Santa Maria Novella’s Pot Pourri traces its origins to a documented recipe from 1743, drawing on the aromatic landscape of Tuscany and the Florentine apothecary heritage that has defined the house for centuries.
Today, that historic composition has moved well beyond the traditional bowl of dried botanicals. Pot Pourri is available as an Eau de Parfum, Liquid Soap and Body Cream, taking the fragrance onto the skin, while a Diffuser and Candle bring it into the home.
It’s an unusually expansive way to experience one of Santa Maria Novella’s historic signatures, particularly for anyone fascinated by the point where fragrance, place and centuries of beauty history intersect.
SOHL SKIN puts your face mask in a stick

Face masks are lovely. Scooping clay out of a pot, spreading it around and discovering some of it under your fingernails several hours later? Less so.
New Dubai-based brand SOHL SKIN, founded by Samuel Pohlner, has tackled the messy part with its debut collection of Facial Mask Sticks. Each mask comes in a colourful twist-up tube and glides directly over freshly cleansed skin, removing the need for brushes, spatulas or fingers. The sticks are compact enough to travel with and cost AED 79 each.
There are four formulas. Green Tea combines green tea extract, centella asiatica, hyaluronic acid and kaolin clay to cleanse and balance. Rose brings together rose extract, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid for nourishment and radiance, while Turmeric uses turmeric extract and niacinamide to target uneven-looking tone. Volcanic Mud, meanwhile, combines volcanic mud, kaolin clay, witch hazel and bentonite for oil control and a deeper cleanse.
Price: AED 79 each
