Following its groundbreaking Spring/Summer 2026 show at the Dubai Opera, ZEGNA has unveiled a new short film titled A Vision of An Oasis, starring British musician James Blake. Directed by Boramy Viguier, the film follows Blake through Dubai in the hours leading up to the show, offering a glimpse into the city’s contrasts and the creative process behind the music composed for the event.
Of the 54 looks presented on the runway, 25 were crafted exclusively for Dubai—a tribute to the city’s distinctive spirit. The film reflects this homage, opening with sweeping visuals of sand meeting sky before gradually revealing the city’s iconic skyline. It serves as a prelude to Blake’s role as the official music advisor for the house’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection.
From dawn to dusk, the camera follows Blake as he moves through the rhythm of the city. In the stillness of the Dubai Opera, his vocals echo through the empty auditorium—a rehearsal he describes as feeling more like a ritual.
“Creativity is often just about dreaming up future scenarios. I love dreaming up new sounds and exploring things sonically,” Blake reflects. “But that can take you away from the moment. The antidote to that is performing—it’s when I feel most present. Performing does that; it can feel almost like an oasis.”
Later, the desert becomes Blake’s canvas for introspection. Amid the vast emptiness, he contemplates what it means to be a visionary—an idea that resonates with both his musical journey and ZEGNA’s evolving narrative.
