Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with Private Office Dubai, has unveiled the Cullinan Cosmos: a one-of-one commission that captures the mystery and wonder of outer space. Commissioned by a family inspired by the cosmos and their young son’s fascination with the stars, this extraordinary creation is the first Rolls-Royce in history to feature a fully hand-painted Starlight Headliner.
Developed over 160 painstaking hours by an in-house Rolls-Royce artist, the celestial masterpiece represents both a technical and artistic milestone for the marque.
A New Frontier in Bespoke Luxury
The Cullinan Cosmos stands as a tribute to the limitless possibilities of Rolls-Royce Bespoke. James Crichton, Regional Director of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Middle East & Africa, remarked:

The creation of the first fully hand-painted Starlight Headliner underscores the innovation and craftsmanship that define Rolls-Royce, while affirming our region’s leading role as a source of some of the world’s most inspiring commissions.”
Echoing this sentiment, Tarek Moataz, General Manager of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Abu Dhabi, described the project as “a celebration of family, creativity, and the magic of childhood dreams”.
Exterior: Outer Limits
Finished in shimmering Arabescato Pearl, the exterior evokes moonlight gliding across a midnight sky. A hand-painted twin coachline in Charles Blue enhances its elegance, while the Illuminated Spirit of Ecstasy glows like a distant star by night.
Interior: Exploring Inner Space
Inside, the cabin offers a calm, contemplative environment inspired by deep space. Reclining seats are upholstered in Charles Blue and Grace White leather, accented with Grace White piping and stitching. Piano White veneers provide a crisp, modern edge, reminiscent of satellite casings.
At the clients’ request, a bespoke Star Cluster motif appears as intricate embroidery on the door panels and headrests, and as hand-painted artwork on the passenger fascia.
Hand-Painted Starlight Headliner: New Horizons
The pièce de résistance is the hand-painted Starlight Headliner, an ethereal depiction of the Milky Way. Crafted freehand over 160 hours, the artwork layers more than 20 applications of acrylic paint to build depth and luminosity. A make-up brush was even employed to achieve the delicate mist effect of cosmic clouds.
Once complete, fibre-optic perforations were individually hand-punched to align with the painted constellations, creating a celestial scene of unmatched artistry.
