The classic European design, with its elegant furnishings and lush gardens, creates an atmosphere that is both inviting and exclusive. Guests are welcomed with a touch of personalised charm, often greeted by the iconic ‘Lady In Red,’ a distinctive ambassador who embodies the hotel’s commitment to bespoke service and warmth. It is a tranquil escape from the bustling city, yet it maintains a subtle buzz of refined activity, whether guests are enjoying a leisurely stroll on the private beach or savouring a gourmet meal.
The Stay
My chosen sanctuary for the night was the magnificent Palm Two Bedroom Suite, a lavish retreat spanning a generous 163 m² (1754 ft²). From the moment I stepped inside, the suite exuded an air of timeless elegance, attributed to its classic European design and exquisite furnishings. The layout was thoughtfully designed for both relaxation and intimate gatherings, featuring a regal king-sized bedroom, a cosy twin bedroom, a lavish living room, and a dedicated dining area. Each space flowed seamlessly into the next, creating an expansive yet intimate atmosphere. Beyond the sophisticated interiors, a private balcony offered breathtaking panoramic views of the serene Palm Jumeirah Lagoon and the lush, meticulously landscaped gardens below. Notably, the bathrooms were appointed with Salvatore Ferragamo toiletries, adding another layer of luxury, and the showers featured ‘blu’ shower filters, ensuring a refreshing and pure bathing experience. The thoughtful inclusion of a fully-equipped kitchen and modern coffee/tea making facilities further enhanced the feeling of a luxurious home-away-from-home, providing every comfort imaginable.
The Food & Drink
A highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the extensive lunch experience at Villamore, the hotel’s exquisite Mediterranean-inspired restaurant. Perched in a prime location, Villamore boasts not only an innovative menu but also some of the most spectacular views of the Dubai skyline, offering an unrivalled setting to witness the captivating sunset. Under the masterful direction of Chef Silvio Carro, the culinary journey was nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish presented was a testament to his exceptional talent and passion, elevating traditional Mediterranean flavours with a contemporary twist. We were particularly impressed by Chef Carro’s attentiveness, as he graciously accommodated our polite requests for smaller portions, allowing us to savour the full breadth of his culinary offerings. Among the standout dishes that delighted my palate were the delicate Duck Confit Croquettes with Parmesan foam, Prawn Croquettes, Villamore Onion Soup, and the exquisitely prepared Pistachio-Crusted Sole Fillet. Dining at Villamore was more than just a meal; it was a sensory symphony, perfectly complemented by the serene beachside ambience and the attentive service. For those seeking an evening of sophisticated entertainment and refreshments, the K-West Sports Bar offers a classic ambience with modern comforts.
