As the fashion world arrives in Italy for Spring/Summer 2027, the city becomes what it does so well: a meeting point between heritage and experimentation, established houses and emerging voices, fashion and culture. Milan Fashion Week runs from 22 to 28 September, bringing together an extensive programme of runway shows, presentations, exhibitions and cultural events across the city.
This season begins with an unusual change to the rhythm of Milan’s calendar. Prada takes the opening runway slot at 14:00 on Tuesday, followed by Dhruv Kapoor, Diesel, J.Salinas and Venerdì Pomeriggio, setting up an opening day that moves quickly between established Italian fashion and younger, more experimental voices.
But the runway is only one part of Milan’s opening chapter.
The CNMI Fashion Hub opens at Palazzo Morando, while the wider cultural programme begins to transform the city into a moving exhibition of fashion, art and design. Prada will also celebrate the opening of Prada Galleria in the historic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, with its Pradasphere exhibition opening permanently from 23 September.
It feels fitting that Milan begins with this conversation.
Fashion has always been about more than clothes. It is architecture, photography, music, craftsmanship, identity and the people who give an idea its meaning. In a moment when technology is transforming how fashion is designed, marketed and experienced, Milan’s opening day places human creativity firmly back at the centre.
Across the city, the first arrivals will begin to shape the visual language of the week: editors moving between appointments, models crossing Piazza del Duomo, photographers gathering outside show spaces and designers preparing to put months of work into a few minutes on a runway.
By the end of the first day, the pace will only accelerate.
For Zenith, Milan Fashion Week begins with a simple question: what does fashion want to say next?
The answer will unfold over the next seven days.
