Kimpton Brings Its Luxury Lifestyle Brand to Qatar with Doha Debut

IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Kimpton Al Rowda Doha, marking the debut of the Kimpton brand in Qatar.

Set to open in mid-2026, the 283-key property will introduce the brand’s distinctive mix of bold design, lively social spaces, and personalised hospitality to the heart of Doha.

For more than four decades, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has been recognised as one of the pioneers of the boutique hotel concept, building a reputation for stylish interiors, standout dining experiences, and a guest-focused approach that feels both relaxed and refined. The Doha opening represents another major step in the brand’s growing Middle East expansion.

Located in a central downtown district, the hotel will place guests within easy reach of Doha’s business hubs, cultural institutions, and major attractions, making it well suited to both corporate and leisure travellers. The property will feature a curated collection of guest rooms, suites, and serviced apartments, alongside five dining and lounge concepts. A rooftop bar with panoramic city views is expected to become one of the hotel’s signature attractions.

In keeping with the Kimpton identity, the hotel is being designed as more than simply a place to stay. The aim is to create a social destination where travellers and locals can connect through food, design, and shared experiences. The property will also maintain the brand’s well-known pet-friendly approach.

The opening comes as Doha continues to strengthen its position as one of the Middle East’s leading luxury destinations. In recent years, the Qatari capital has seen rising international tourism, driven by major global events, significant cultural investment, and its status as a major aviation hub. Landmarks such as the Museum of Islamic Art and the National Museum of Qatar have helped shape the city into a destination that balances heritage with contemporary architecture and luxury hospitality.

The signing also reflects IHG’s broader ambitions for its luxury and lifestyle portfolio across the region. Following the recent opening of Kimpton KAFD Riyadh, the brand is preparing to expand further with upcoming launches in Dubai and Jeddah.

IHG currently operates eight hotels across Qatar under brands including InterContinental, voco, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, and Staybridge Suites.
