Huda B Gets Snatched, Skincare Goes Hydrogel and Harry Potter Takes Over Your Toothbrush

From Huda Beauty’s pink-and-lilac powders and Dries Van Noten’s porcelain lip care to pumpkin-shaped bath treats and a little Hogwarts magic, here are seven beauty stories on our radar this week.

Huda Beauty and Cardi B are getting Ultra Snatched

Huda Beauty has teamed up with Cardi B for the Ultra Snatched Collection, bringing pink and lilac into the brand’s Easy Bake universe. The idea is simple: pink brightens, lilac lifts, and the powders can be strategically placed across the face using Huda Beauty’s returning “Snatch Map” technique.

The new Easy Bake Duos pair two loose powders that can be used separately or mixed. Cherry Lilac combines the soft pink Cherry Blossom Cake with the new cool-toned Lilac Muffin, while Pink Ube pairs deep rosy Pink Velvet Cookie with electric-lilac Ube Birthday Cake. Each promises up to 18 hours of wear and a flashback-free, airbrushed finish.

There are also two new Easy Bake Pressed shades, Ube Birthday Cake and Pink Velvet Cookie, designed to control shine for up to 12 hours. Layering the pressed formula over the loose powder takes the whole snatched proposition even further.

Dries Van Noten puts lip care in a porcelain pill box

Huda

Dries Van Noten Beauty has added five tinted balms to its lip collection: Frosted Blue, Sepia Mocha, Natural Blush, Poppy Red and Electric Pink. The refillable balms combine buildable colour with a finish that sits between matte and sheen, while rosehip and pomegranate seed oils keep lips hydrated. They can also be tapped onto the cheeks for a wash of colour.

Then there is the Pill Box, which takes lip care somewhere considerably more decorative. Handcrafted in Limoges porcelain by Carpenet, it houses a nourishing 3-in-1 treatment that can be used as a daily balm, lipstick base or overnight mask.

The collection also introduces Tiger Ink, a reusable lipstick case that places a tiger motif against tailored black-and-white stripes, bringing Dries Van Noten’s familiar love of unexpected pattern combinations into the beauty cabinet.

Dr. Barbara Sturm takes Everything from the eyes to the entire face

After introducing its Everything Eye Patches in 2024, Dr. Barbara Sturm has expanded the idea with the Everything Hydrogel Mask, its first hydrogel treatment for the full face.

The biodegradable hydrogel mask is split into upper and lower sections and promises to hydrate, brighten, tighten, smooth, plump and soothe in just 10 minutes. Its ingredient line-up includes peptide-rich Hydrolysed Lupine Protein, multi-molecular-weight Hyaluronic Acid and Vegan Collagen, supported by Glutathione, Avocado Polyphenols and Biofermented Purslane.

It can be applied after cleansing and before serums and moisturiser, with any remaining essence patted into the skin after removal. There is also one very simple upgrade: keep it in the fridge before applying it for an extra cooling hit.

L’Occitane gives almond body oil a bronze shimmer

L’Occitane en Provence has given one of its signature ingredients a little sparkle with the Almond Shimmering Body Oil. Sweet almond oil is suspended with fine bronze shimmer to leave a subtle gleam across the skin, with a lightweight formula designed to absorb quickly without a greasy finish.

It carries the familiar almond scent of the wider collection and can be shaken before application to distribute the shimmering particles. A few drops are then warmed between the palms and swept across the skin.

For anyone already committed to the full almond agenda, the wider line also includes the Almond Polishing Paste, made with crushed almond shells and sugar crystals, the cult Almond Shower Oil, Almond Supple Skin Oil and a Hair and Body Mist.

Santa Maria Novella takes Melograno beyond fragrance

One of Santa Maria Novella’s distinctive historic compositions, Melograno, takes inspiration from the pomegranate and its longstanding associations with vitality, knowledge and abundance.

Beyond its fragrance incarnation, the Florentine house carries Melograno across a Scented Terracotta, Liquid Soap, Diffuser and Candle. The composition moves from citrus and warm spices into rose, ylang ylang and pomegranate, before patchouli, labdanum, musk and oak moss emerge at the base.

The Scented Terracotta is the particularly intriguing piece, turning the Melograno composition into a decorative object for the home rather than relying on a conventional spray or diffuser alone.

Lush has entered pumpkin and spiced latte territory

Lush’s new Autumn Gourmand collection has arrived in the UAE with a bathroom full of pumpkins, warming spices and edible-sounding beauty products. The range is available from September in Lush stores across the UAE and Bahrain, as well as online and through the Lush app.

Among the highlights is the Pumpkin Scrubee Body Scrub, AED 80, which combines organic coconut shell for exfoliation with pumpkin seed oil and a maple syrup aroma. The Pumpkin Spice Soap, meanwhile, brings together ginger absolute, carob resinoid and pumpkin purée.

Things get more whimsical with the red-and-white toadstool-shaped Faerie Realm Soap, made with murumuru butter, white fungus mushroom and organic almond oil. And then there is the Bonfire Bath Bomb, AED 65, filled with star anise, cinnamon sticks, orange and cloves and finished with popping candy that crackles in the bath.

Colgate brings Hogwarts to the bathroom sink

And for this week’s most unexpected beauty collaboration: Harry Potter x Colgate.

The new UAE collection includes toothbrushes inspired by wands, complete with ultra-soft gold, black and white bristles and details drawn from the Harry Potter universe. Look closely at the handles and there are House mascots, stars and crests worked into the designs.

The Bubbling Cauldron Mild Mint toothpaste provides the actual magic trick. It starts white and turns blue as you brush, creating a visual cue intended to encourage children to keep going for the recommended two minutes. The Hogwarts castle also appears across the collection’s packaging.

The Harry Potter x Colgate collection is available now across the UAE.
