Dubai’s first Korean steakhouse needs to be on your list.
If you’re looking for a dining spot in Dubai that combines bold flavours, a cool atmosphere, and great energy, Smoki Moto should be on your list. As Dubai’s first Korean steakhouse, located at the Marriott Resort in Palm Jumeirah, this restaurant isn’t just a meal—it’s an eruption of Korean flavours with a streetwise flair. With cutting-edge grilling stations at every table and a vibe that channels downtown Seoul, Smoki Moto invites you to dive into its succulent underground. From private dining spaces to the panoramic terrace views, every corner of the restaurant pulses with the untamed spirit of its mascot, Mr. Moto.
The Venue
From the moment you step into the venue, you’re greeted by an atmosphere that effortlessly blends industrial design with warm, inviting touches. Exposed brick walls, neon signage, and sleek metal accents create an urban vibe, while plush seating and dim lighting add a touch of intimacy. Whether you’re seated indoors or on the terrace, the restaurant’s energy is infectious, making it the perfect spot for a casual dinner or a night out with friends.

The Culinary Experience
The meal began with a set of appetisers that set the tone for the evening. The Seafood Mandu—crispy dumplings filled with a delicate mix of seafood—were a delightful start. Next, we were served the Spicy Bulgogi Gimbap, a modern twist on the classic Korean rice roll. Packed with marinated beef, fresh vegetables, and a hint of spice, it was a comforting bite. The Kimchi Jeon (Kimchi Pancake) was the star of the starters, with its golden, crispy exterior and tangy, fermented kimchi flavour that left us craving for more.

For the main course, the Smoki Moto Signature Butcher’s Box was a showstopper. This lavish platter is a meat lover’s dream, featuring an array of perfectly smoked and grilled meats such as the Wagyu Tteock Galbi, a rich blend of A5 Japanese & Australian wagyu mince with galbi marinade and Classic Dry Aged Wagyu, a 28 days aged wagyu ribeye. What truly elevated the experience, however, were the banchan that accompanied the grilled meats—traditional Korean side dishes served alongside the meal. The assortment was flavourful; however, two stood out as clear favourites: the Kimchi, with its bold, tangy, and slightly spicy kick, and the Lotus Root with Black Sesame Sauce, which offered a delightful contrast of textures and flavours. The lotus root was crisp and refreshing, while the nutty, creamy black sesame sauce added a rich depth that made it irresistible. These banchan not only complemented the grilled meats but also added a layer of authenticity and balance to the meal.

To end the meal on a sweet note, we decided on sharing a Red Bean Crème Brûlée. This dessert combined the creamy richness of a classic crème brûlée with the earthy sweetness of red beans. The caramelised sugar topping added a satisfying crackle, making it the perfect finale to an exceptional dining experience.
The Verdict
Smoki Moto isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience you’ll want to revisit. The food is packed with flavour and expertly prepared, the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between cool and welcoming, and the service is attentive without being overbearing. Whether you’re a Koreanbarbecue enthusiast, or simply after a great spot to unwind with friends, Smoki Moto hits all the right notes and is one you’ll likely find yourself recommending to others
