BDN: Celebrating Sudanese Heritage Through Luxury Sustainable Fashion

Explore BDN, the award-winning Sudanese-Canadian luxury fashion brand redefining modest fashion through cultural storytelling, sustainability, and social impact.

A Sudanese Legacy Woven into Modern Luxury

At the heart of BDN (Boutique De Nana) is a deep connection to Sudanese heritage. Founded by Yousra Elsadig, a multi-award-winning Sudanese-Canadian designer, mother, and healthcare provider, BDN bridges traditional Sudanese craftsmanship with modern luxury fashion. Every collection tells a story of identity, resilience, and cultural pride, while inspiring women around the world to embrace individuality with confidence.

Shaped by both Sudanese culture and global influences, BDN transforms garments into living narratives, blending traditional embroidery, symbolic motifs, and luxurious fabrics into contemporary silhouettes. This is more than fashion; it’s a celebration of heritage, sustainability, and social impact.

This double-cape masterpiece from BDN’s Mirath Collection embodies the perfect fusion of strength, elegance, and Sudanese heritage. Anchored by a tailored suit jacket, the dramatic double-layered cape flows gracefully. Hand-embroidered floral motifs cascade across the garment. Ethically crafted with BDN’s zero-waste techniques, this lightweight yet structured piece is a timeless expression of luxury fashion with purpose.

Introducing “Mirath”: A Tribute to Sudanese Heritage

Currently showcased at M7, Qatar, as part of the Threads of Impact Exhibition by Fashion Trust Arabia Retail Section, Mirath reflects BDN’s commitment to sustainability, inclusion, and cultural storytelling.

BDN’s latest collection, “Mirath”, meaning heritage in Arabic, is a poetic reflection of Sudan’s strength, beauty, and resilience. Part of the Adaala Collection, Mirath celebrates tradition while reimagining it for a modern, global audience.

  • Each piece carries Sudanese cultural narratives and is inspired by the nation’s landscape.
  • The palette embodies Sudan: black velvet with gold accents, soft yellow hues, and pure white for peace.
  • Every garment is named after a Sudanese city, anchoring the collection in identity and memory.

Currently showcased at M7, Qatar, as part of the Threads of Impact Exhibition by Fashion Trust Arabia, Mirath reflects BDN’s commitment to sustainability, inclusion, and cultural storytelling.

“Mirath is more than a collection, it is a love letter, a tribute, and a vision for Sudan,” says Yousra Elsadig, Founder and Creative Director of BDN.
