We were lucky enough to stay in a duplex hotel apartment at SLS Dubai, and it was absolutely stunning. The apartment had two levels of space, which felt more like a chic city flat than a hotel room. The modern design was sleek but with plenty of personality – huge floor-to-ceiling windows gave us jaw-dropping views of the city, and we couldn’t get enough of the terrace, which overlooked Dubai Design District.

The room felt spacious and stylish, with a gorgeous pink bed that took centre stage. There was also a comfy sofa and a marble coffee table that made it feel less like a hotel and more like a home (if your home was this luxurious!). Plus, it’s well-placed for access to all the key landmarks, like The Dubai Mall, DIFC, and Dubai Opera – making it super convenient for both tourists and business travellers.

From the moment you step into the lobby on the 71st floor, you’re hit with fun, colourful design. The huge stained-glass window at the entrance is just the beginning of what’s a playful, quirky vibe that runs throughout the hotel. Think colourful sculptures, a giant rubber duck, and even a masked monkey – it’s stylish and fun in the best way.

The Ciel Spa was another highlight of our stay. Located on the 69th floor, the spa had a relaxed, calm vibe, complete with a plunge pool and sun loungers. We loved the Sip & Glow package, which included a rejuvenating mask and a mocktail – a perfect way to unwind.

But perhaps the most Instagram-worthy spot in the hotel is the rooftop pool. Even though it was a little windy during our visit, the views of the Burj Khalifa were still unbeatable. With upbeat music, a laid-back vibe, and comfy daybeds, it’s the perfect spot to relax after a busy day. We can totally see why this pool has been making waves on social media.

The rooms, too, carry on this playful vibe. We loved the huge terrace with its view of Dubai Design District and the light, airy feel of the room. Even the bathroom had floor-to-ceiling windows, so you could soak in the views while enjoying a luxurious bath.

The duplex hotel apartment was a beautiful space to call home for a few days, Filia served up a breakfast that we still dream about, and the hotel’s amenities, like the spa and rooftop pool, were the icing on the cake.
