Ramadan in Dubai is all about good food, great company, and unforgettable experiences, and my iftar experience at Frenia The Palm ticked all the right boxes. Sitting high atop voco Dubai The Palm, this rooftop lounge offers some of the best panoramic views of Ain Dubai, Dubai Marina, and the Arabian Gulf, making it the perfect spot to break your fast in style.

The Vibes: Sunset, City Lights & A Cool Breeze
The moment I stepped onto the rooftop, I knew this iftar was going to be special. The cool evening breeze was a refreshing touch, something to truly appreciate before Dubai’s heat kicks in. As the sun started to set, the sky turned into a mix of warm oranges and purples, and by the time iftar was in full swing, the city lights had taken over, making the whole place come alive.

A Feast Worth Savouring
For AED 250 per person, the iftar spread was a delicious mix of traditional favourites and rich Middle Eastern flavours, all served at a comfortable pace. No rush. No overwhelming portions. Just the right balance.
The table was set with a classic offering of dates, and dried apricots, a simple yet essential touch to ease into the meal.
As we settled in, the first round of dishes arrived, a comforting bowl of lentil soup and an array of vibrant cold mezze, followed by a selection of hot appetizers. The standout was the Batata Jabaliyeh, a perfectly spiced fried potato dish that carried just the right amount of heat. Another favourite of mine was the Mouajanat platter, a delightful mix of flaky sambousek and fatayer stuffed with flavorful, savory filling.

Main Course:
The star of the show was undoubtedly the Mixed Grill Platter, a sizzling selection of char-grilled shish taouk, lamb tikka and kofta, perfectly rich and juicy.
For those looking to switch things up, the menu also features three rotating daily specials, offering a bit of variety and an opportunity to try something new each evening. I opted for the fish in tangy tomato sauce and the grilled chicken with rice, and both delivered a satisfying punch of flavor.
The Sweet Finale
No iftar is complete without something sweet, and this spread had plenty to indulge in. Katayef, Kunafa with Cheese, and Halawat El Jibin were indulgent traditional delights, while the fruit platter provided a much-needed palate cleanser.

The Cherry on Top
The traditional Ramadan drinks—Jallab, Kamardine, Karkad, and Laban Up were a nice touch, along with Turkish coffee and tea to wind down after the feast. But what really stood out was the service. The food came out at just the right pace, so we could enjoy everything without feeling rushed or stuffed too fast.
The Verdict
Frenia’s Layali Ramadan Iftar isn’t just about the food—it’s a whole experience. The views, the cozy and inviting mood, the well-thought-out menu, and the perfectly timed service all come together to create something truly special. Whether you’re looking for a stylish spot to break your fast with family and friends or just want to soak up the bustling energy of the mesmerising Jumeirah skyline, this is a rooftop iftar worth experiencing.
Would I go again? Without a doubt! 100%
